Income stream:

a) clubs
b) sponsorship
c) endorsements
d) tournament wins / bonsus

In Chinese super league, the max salary is cap at RMB1million.
Bonuses is extra. Ma Long for example got something like RMB2million (wage + bonus) in 3 to 4 months of table tennis.

It is reported ZJK earns in total (all of the above combined) - USD1.6million

I'm not sure how much the Euro league pay the top level players, I heard Russia is quite a lot too.

The good thing is that TT season is only 3 to 4 months, so if fit in properly (busy though), one can join 2 leagues and still take part in tournaments + sponsorship + endorsements

I know that CCY get sponsorship from a b.ank in Taiwan, worth NTD100000 every month - about USD3000

He's asking about the strugglers in the top 100-200, not the superstars. So you also need to add sources such as below which can be significant for these guys.
1 Government grants, tax breaks.
2 National sports bodies other than TT specific
3 National TT association
4 Coaching
5 Appearance fees
6 Equipment sales (u don't believe they actually use all those free rubbers, blades, clothing etc)
7 Parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, girlfriend

He didn't say strugglers, but any players in Top 200 can play professional in European Leagues etc.
As I said, I don't have information in Euro Leagues, in Chinese league, the salary cap is 1 million RMB
Now we just need to European forum members to share some more information

IE, what is the English players in Germany earning?

CCY is NTD120k and not NTD100k

Here is an example of sponsorship deals:
http://taiwanindepth.tw/ct.asp?xItem=209463&CtNode=1923
And this is not just world top 30, there is other players in the Top200 who is getting it, but don't have details in this article of the amount. However I recall someone telling me it starts from around NTD20k to NTD30k a month (just under USD1000)- a basic salary in Taiwan. The better ones will earn NTD40k or so.

This sponsorship is basically a life time program, and the players play for the B.anks team

Interesting. London also has a charity originally set up and originally backed by a group of financiers. It doesn't have an employment aspect but is heavily into Table Tennis.

Yes, those financiers love their ping. I don't know how strong it is these days, but there is a table tennis league for London finance staff. they joined up with Civil servants some time ago.

Dan,
Since when is the 4-letter word for those in finance banned? I tried to reply to Tony's post using the word b... and got this message.
Is it because it rhymes with that solo activity?

Hey Tinykin, it should work now. Bank was banned because a lot of bots were using it a few years back.

Interesting, thank you for sharing.

Basically the top 200 "pro" players nowadays need many income streams to be able to have a good earning - except for the few that has a big basic in the top leagues.

Wonder if there is other forum members that can share more info, as I am also keen to understand this a bit more too
Thanks in advance
