Good points. I mean they were never faced each other in important matches.

When i could argue whether ITTF pro tour final is not important (Quatar open 2012 final i believe), i know what you mean. At the grand competition level, these players haven't played against each other, it was mainly ZJK's business to take care of Timo, and also Ma Long has some history with him as well.

Given XX's performance against Lefties so far, I think XX vs Boll is a good option.
CCA by no means is a bad player, but XX made CCA look like world rank 100+

Maybe CCA is not good with other lefties, but from what I saw, CCA was just too suprised with the power of those balls coming into his FH or BH block

I feel the best line-up of chinese would be-1)Xu Xin-very good,on top form,playing his best,and a machine
2)Ma Long-also very good,consistent
3)Wang Hao-experienced,knows Dima and Timo well,also playing quite well

as for Zhang Jike,he is not on his best form recently.He might be way stronger than Wang Hao,but his current results dont look too good,even though they were wins.

I think WH won't play
More chance of ZJK or FZD playing the 3rd spot.

Or even chance of Ma Long playing 3 and going for the win, and ZJK and XX taking 1 and 2
Always a chance that XX will play 3 and the normal ML and ZJK
I'm sure LGL will only make the call after the players spend the morning warming up.

This is so very exicing that Germany got through. I only watched Dmitrij Ovtcharov match losing to Jun Mizutani and after I watched I thought that Germany lost for sure now since Ovtcharov is the strongest player in the team. Now I'd love to see Ovtcharov play against Zhang Jike, he lost to Zhang Jike when Dima played in the Chinese Super League. Timo Boll against Ma Long, that would be a revenge for losing to Ma Long in Liverpool 2012. And lastly Franziska would test Xu Xin's ability to loop his long-range shots back.

ma long used backhand flick as sudden attacks. half long service, plus counter loop, ma long does that against dimitrij a lot. ma long consecutively 7 points? in the set

ma long's backhand is definitely not strong atm i hope he trains more in his backhand

If he serves short serve, Ma Long will receive it even shorter, that's what Timo doesn't want

i don't think serving short is impossible. zjk xx many other players do. but timo had confidence in his tactics

i really hope ma long will make his backhand even stronger. to become a perfect player.

he currently tries a consistent block, or a short pinch/punch hit flick close table. but ofcourse ma long has great forehand
