Hugo calderano unfortunately lost to Mizutani in a epic game.

But brazilian duo made history in this WTTC.
They in the quarter-final after beaten Simon Gauzy- Lebesson

That match with Calderano and Mizutani was close. Mizutani really could have lost. That 5th game was a hard game to lose. Calderano was up and could have been up 3-2.

Well-deserved victories for both Lee Sangsu and Kim Jong/Kim Hyok Bong. They played really cleverly and from time to time brilliantly to win their matches. Great stuff! :)

Actually, Kim & Kim's match was a masterclass in applied tactics. Consistent patterns and very clear to see what they were aiming for. And very well executed too :)

Just watched it, I am gutted!

Lee Sangsu did play great though. Who knows, maybe he can do some damage and take out a CNT player.

I am still thinking the top 3 of men or women will go far, the surprise can happen because at least 1 player can win the title, but i guess as many that the winner will be one of the top 3 or top 4 globally in both singles.

The best doubles match was the Ma/Timo vs. Xu/Zhang, i was hoping for that chinese/german doubles to win, but it didn't happen, hope to see them again in another tours and to see more chinese/non chinese doubles in the future too.

what's the schedule for 30/4?
It hasn't been posted yet, but you will find it here in time, in the right hand column.
http://www.ittf.com/competitions/competitions2.asp?Competition_ID=2503&category=WTTC

Or you could go through the Draws for each class and glean the info from that if you are impatient.
Look at this and you'll see unplayed matches for 30 April, the time and table where they'll be played :)

EDIT: or just ignore this and look at Steven post above ;-)

Korean team folks dun usually perform well in Open titles, but for the big one like Olympic and world cup they are more concentrated and do much better. In term of #title, as far as i remember korea has earned many more than Japan on big stages :)
If you are talking about World championships (team and individual, doubles), World Cup and Olympics, then I'm not sure Korea has a lot more. I actually think they have a lot less titles overall than Japan.

Korea has had some Olympic success, but Japan hasn't had any. On the other hand Korea has had little WTTC success, something that Japan has had plenty of.

well, you can check out the head coach of Korea, Yoo Nam Kyu, olympic champion and also his student Ryu Sung Min. Kim Taek Soo and Kim Ki Taek are also legends of Korea and and their peaks were not long ago (almost same generation with Yoo Nam Kyu). The best defensive player ever, Yoo Se Hyuk, is still playing, silver WTTC 2003, which as far as I remember he is the only one defensive player achiving that.

For your reference:

and tell me what you have got after research on Japan achievement.
