Hayata 0-3 Hirano
G1 33, 47, 77, 79 dead net for Hirano, 89, 811
G2 01 Hayata served into the net, 11, 12, 42, 43, 53, 55, 75, 76 Hayata served off the table, 77, 87, 89 TO for Hayata, 99 Hayata served reverse pendulum, 910 half-dead net for Hirano, 1010, 1011, 1111, 1113 half-dead net for Hirano
This Hirano is clearly different. Her FH/BH shot quality is no joke.
G3 01, 11, 12 Hayata served off the table, 42, 44, 54, 59, 79, 711
Is it:
A. Hayata's poor body condition?
B. Team order?
C.
Sample size is absurdly small?

This Tieba user nailed it.

Akula playing outstanding in Game 4
One thing she did really well was draw in Wang with the drop shots and forcing her back and forth and drawing soft pushes back. China's going to have to develop a long pips blocker because this is a really surprising amount of difficulty for them.

Yep, In the olden days especially in a hypothetical situation where Sreeja is part of the world's elite, they would have retained a blocker on the team to keep her in check. But these days where everyone is an attacking shakehander, resources are limited, and the competition to climb up the ladder is intense. There's little chance for that. Their top players are just gonna have to improvise on the fly.

Damn Hirano 🙌🏻👍🏻🙌🏻……!!!!!!
I hate that it has to come at Hayata's cost, but I'm happy for Hirano. I don't care what order, but I do want to see them both in the #3 and #4 spots at the Olympics. HIrano, of course, has the tougher task of having to consistently gain high enough ranking points and somewhat hoping others in Olympic Singles ahead of her stumble a bit. She also has to manage herself such that she doesn't become tournament weary before the Olympics.

My dream scenario: the Indian players take out SYS/WMY. Hayata/Hirano in the gold medal match!

They held a meeting on that after WTTC 2024. Xu Shaofa even wrote them a letter.

It's the JNT internal order from the top BRUH!!
They have "malign influence" on proceedings.

Man, IDK how Ma Long keeps up with these youngsters. He looks like he can't keep up at all in rallies and somehow just came back from 4-9 down to win 12-10 against Alexis in game 3.

Man, ML just use medium speed counters on the BH side, almost an active block, until Alexis either makes a mistake trying to add power to break through ML's defense or go down the line and make it a FH-FH game where ML has a chance of winning.

Towards the end of Gm3 and all of Gm4 most all of Lebrun's points were lost due to overshooting the table long. Maybe ML was adding some extra spin to his shots and Alexis didn't notice?

Certainly looked like a tale of two halves. Competitive match turned into a blowout.
