How much 5 years of "freedom" can do to a Youth Olympic gold medalist.

Amy 3-0 -> 4-3 Liu Gaoyang
LGY is still LGY elsewhere...

Majin Bao goes down 0-3 but then transforms into Majin Buu and comes back to win 4-3!
Not just down 0-3 but he lost games 2 and 3 by a combined score of 22-3.

Insane to bring it back from that.

Yes and no. It is a best of seven for a reason and the margin of losing is often a sign of the tactics that got you that point, but not a sign of tactics that have not yet been tried, which is why such reversals are alwaus possible between equal level opponents in best of sevens.

I doubt Coach Kou is spending much time as a player.
probably more as a coach nowadays
so he will only become more and more beatable every year
It has always been a question how he maintained his level while he stayed in the US. But this kind of player was always within his range so I don't think it is purely about lack of training.

well, he is 37
the range will widen further for sure.

maybe in USA, KL can still remain a bully
but he will struggle to keep up the pace in Asia for sure.

re-lack of training, I have seen so many other former CNT youngsters loosing a great deal of form due to coaching.
so unless KL is special.... I believe he is more focused on coaching now.
So the question is, who can still challenge him within USA
the chinese coaches who don't train, or the US based players that can go from 2600 to 2800 (other than Kanak)

and one of my friends beat WCQ twice 3-0 and Harimoto in the junior space too.
everyone is destined differently, he choose to enjoy life and stopped seeking pro TT when he was no longer a junior

Yes, I think age is a bigger factor.
