I believe it hit the edge, but I am older than CCY.
I looked at it frame by frame, and I see no path deflection, but it's hard if not impossible to conclusively say one way or the other at the given camera angle. A real shame it had to end that way.

its not the best angle, but chuang's camp is pretty much saying, if the opponent has moral, then he would of called it.
many of Chuang's friends - aka, a lot of European pros are also agreeing it is edge

just one of those umpire clueless on fact, and using what ever limited resource to make judgement.
Chuang obviously lost his cool, while heavily jet lagged and refused to play table tennis for the remainder of the match.
for him to do that, means there was some serious violation from the opponent to cause that.
and I won't be surpised this was the first time it has happened between the two for Chuang to get so upset.

with the thing on scheduling
WTT 2024 vision is experimenting how human bodies can still compete in high level table tennis while being globetrotters version 2030.

It could be Sakura Mori's turn to win a Contender tournament. She took out a very good Lee Eunhye of S. Korea 3-2, 11-8. She's also still in the SF of WD with Miyu Nagasaki.
yep, likely have the upper hand against Huang
but I do wish for Huang to win.

Huang has a cool history, very similar to that of Chuang, as player coach in the same time, but Huang actually retired to be a full time coach.
But she was just too devoted in the sport and actually was a coach + training partner, that her skills never really dropped. because she rallied with the players basically every min.
that few years later, she comes back and get into the national team because her form never really dropped much. WOW.

Huang, for those that don't know, was the former TPE no 1 before Cheng came on and took over the sport and Huang was no 2 for years, until retirement.

Huang is one of those that loves playing table tennis and has an eye to help young ones.
Her table would always be the "last to finish" when with the young ones and first to start. That has been the case for pretty much every time I saw her and her students training.

Apparently, Cheng Hsien-Tsu has to play qualifiers tomorrow in Zagreb so had to skip WD. Huang Yi Hua also is listed for playing the qualification stage in Zagreb, but I guess the lure of potentially winning a WTT Contender in WS is worth it to her.

So this is a technical question
It is like booking airplane tickets but the connection flight is impossible to achieve

Who is at fault for “no show”

Players so far are flying in back to back to play unrested, with the only rest if you dont make it to the last day.
So wo finals seems to be one of the solutions now…. It is not right

Man, these WTT officials are worse than flat-Earthers...

Well, apparently WTT didn't think it that way, otherwise they wouldn't have had to change the date of Chongqing. Those who will be required to be in Chongqing next week had to pick Taiyuan. And now due to a lack of players, the qualification stage for Taiyuan was slashed by 1 day.

Follow-up thought on WTT CT Rio de Janeiro 2024, Taiyuan 2024, Mendoza 2024, and WTT CS Chongqing 2024.

From the QoL perspective, this series of 4 events should've been much more enjoyable than it turned out to be. It's a total pain in the ass to follow, on top of navigating through that flashy but impractical WTT website. I didn't watch much of Mendoza. Keeping tabs of the other 3 has proven to be very uncomfortable as well. I feel for those in mainland China that have to pay to watch.

Not friendly to the fans who keep tabs on both events happening on both sides of the planet. WTT needs to consider the quality of life here. Yes, more points are distributed among the players this way, but top players who have opted to compete in Rio and then required to be in Chongqing next week will have a hell of a time dealing with the jet lag.

Wtt should have stats of viewerships of same date events to share if more events = more viewers or same viewers but now needing to choose which to follow

Both event dates also have other wtt events happening in the same time too

So Cheng had to make the call within 30 mins
it was a short notice move. She had to pack and make sure to leave for the airport within 30 mins.
get to the airport to buy her ticket - a 4 flight journey (3 x transit), so she can arrive on the eve of her match (basically 1 sleep, then she needs to play)

She did this to not gamble WO her singles - which would lead to penalties of her individual world ranking (as what we saw with Aruna).
It is very sad that a player need to choose between singles over doubles, since the rankings are different and singles has more harm than doubles.

for Huang, both are singles.... so, she will take the gamble on arriving on the day of her match.
Let's see if WTT will have some mercy to reschedule or make it the last match of the day....
Or if WTT will fine and penalty Huang for not pitching in time.

It just one of the challenges my friends are facing this year amid the crazy scheduling and the need to maintain or increase world ranking points..... hope they remain healthy through this craziness
