well, its gone to the boring part of China vs China

so hoping for WCQ to loose, otherwise, the same thing just different day
Nah not hoping for WCQ to lose, hoping to see the two players on top of their game. More like Asian Games finals even if Fan was beginning to fall then already.

This was a fun tournament.

1) Again great to see that Fan's superhuman rallying abilities have returned.
2) Timo reminds us that as long as you are an athlete, you can still spin to win.
3) Alexis Lebrun reminds us why he should be playing singles over Gauzy.
4) Quadri reminded me how much he has improved as a player even if people who focus on the forehand vs backhand disparity cannot see it.
5) Harimoto reminds us that he will continue to struggle against players who play with power and don't fall into quick attack patterns. That said, he is still improving his forehand.
6) The Chinese women remind us they are like Saitama in One Punch Man - the stories always are supposed to be interesting, but we know how it will end.
7) Hana Goda and Sora Matsushima reminds us that incredible things still happen in table tennis.

Everyone reminds us that the more things change in TT, the more things remain the same. I wouldn't be surprised if CNT has already built their secret training hall somewhere though it would be expensive in France...

Can we talk about the shit job WTT has been doing with uploads for the past six or so months? It has been especially bad with with this Champions tournament. Uploads of edited matches have been really slow this time and they keep skipping points to the point it's infuriating. It took them until yesterday to upload the rest of the first round matches for instance. Today I wanted to watch the Timo vs Felix match and from the end of the second game they skipped right to 7-5 in the third game. Excuse me? Plenty of rallies in uploads were not even shown to the end. You can tell they have been using AI to cut the highlights with the skipped points, the arbitrary max run time of ten minutes and the AI struggling with sky lobs. Most times it won't even show the hand shaking. Because it was so short with fifteen minutes I watched a full match upload for the first time in WTT's history, SYS vs JJH, and I noticed even those are edited cutting out timeouts, breaks between games and warm-ups. I'm wondering why you even have two types of edits when neither does the job right. I didn't even follow the Contender uploads from Mendoza so I can't speak for those, but I checked out the playlist for Chongqing and there are so many shorts I'm thinking that's where their focus has been because it drives subscription numbers (the channel is close to 1 million subs).

Adham Sharara: Misses me now?

In retrospect, Weikert has done even more harm than good.

Yeah, really poor quality highlights, and that's been going on for a while now. I end up just watching the full match and skip the downtime manually.
