Why are you giving Freitas two lets? That has to be a fault!
To entertain the crowd and as a token to the organizer for putting him on the TV table?

The doubles SF b/w HKK/WCT and Ueda/Yoshimura reminds me of the doubles final at the Pro Tour Grand Final '97, also unfolding right here at the Elizabeth Stadium.

does not matter. Brain is what matters. Look at the above post of SFF and you will get your blade. What is more Wong was too far from the table so his BH tospins were easy to block, so he was trying more with FH from BH side and the Persson block down the line.
I think he got great advice from Par Gerrel who is great with tactics and was his coatch at this match.

What are you smoking? I was curious what blade he's currently using as it's not timo boll zlc anymore.

I thought Ueda do better, of course he met LSS but to keep up with 3rd spot in JNT he has to win such matches. Seems Japan has a big problem thinking about tokio 2020. Mizutani play really poor lately, Niwa is uncertain (depending on the mood I suppose), matsudaira is a top 50 player nothing more, the same oshima, morizono (maybe top 30), yoshimura (also maybe top 30 or 20). There is only harimoto who keep upgrading and give some confidence to the team (he is definitely top 10).

nothing. It is just so many people always asking what equipment somebody uses just after the player win important match. It is just easy connection, tell me what is his blade and I buy it to play better. Nothing personal.

Imagine Harimoto winning Tokyo Olympic gold at the age of 17.

But I rather see other Jap players grow up than a single-hand show of Harimoto.

Harimoto is possible, we will see how much he will be improving, he still got 2 years. But for the others to be great contenders at tokio should come up today with good form. And this is what lacks to make japan fighting for team gold.

The match between Patrick Franziska and Zhou Qihao though. So many good rallies throughout the match. Even though Zhou QH won by 4-1, every match was decided by 2 points differential. A thoroughly enjoyable match. Both players exhibited their signature playstyles. Zhou showed his agility and powerful FH. Franziska played powerful BH and was strong from far away. Even though both Franziska and Filus have lost, they played well in Hong Kong. I hope they do even better in the next time.

Morizono and Yoshima displayed such a great potential and aggressiveness in double. I wonder why the JNT doesn't develop them in single.

Men's double final would be interesting to watch. Ho and Wong blew their final last year again Japan while leading. Let's see if they can put their feet on the ground in home land and take the title.

"I was actually leading in quite a few games. Perhaps it's been too long of an absence from competition, I didn't handle well when in a dogfight, feeling that the mind and body couldn't keep up. This tournament was to help find my touch back. It felt decent on the whole, but my mental stability was still far from before. I believe it will get better as time goes on" said ZJK.

That's it .... and one important thing i read now : The head of the China Tennis Association responded! Zhang Jike will participate in the China Open

CNT Takes it All

This banner is unique in that the phrase is a common Cantonese idiom. Very fitting for the Hong Kong Open.
