Doubles finals were amazing..
Women singles final was amazing too!
But.. - for me - men singles final was pretty boring.. yuck ..
Few good rallyes, but only few.. it was sooooooo boring!

And I hate the fact that Xu didnt use that matchpoint he had..
Im not very happy after this final..

At least - Liu Shiwen, chinese beauty, she made it! YES!

Is it just me, or you also think Wang Hao is fat?
I mean - more fat than he was month ago.. He seems a little more round to me, hehe..

You are right. It looks like he gained about 20 lbs (10 Kilos). He did that at the end of 2009 as well and he could not play well for months as a result of it. If he does not get in shape for the Olympics China is in trouble.

I would not call the men's singles final a boring one. I don't know if it's because I'm a Xu Xin fan but the match was just really exiting. Of course when Xu Xin plays instead of Ma Long the game is more about the three first ball than long rallies, but the few longer rallies they had were just amazing and usually at the most critical points. Nice to see Xu Xin finally really challenging Zhang Jike, too bad he didn't manage to win.

Hmm he does look a bit chunky, but he has looked like that for a good 5 years or so now, his style of play revolves around more power anyway and less running around and quickness like the typical penhold style. Despite losing to ZJK, he looked like he was in really good form. The first game in particular his backhand down the line was incredible. I doubt really anyone but a Chinese player could beat his current form. There is no way he would let himself, or the Chinese team would let him fall out of form when the Olympics are just on the horizon.

Xu Xin is originally right handed. He start play TT with right hand too, unless his coach found that his left hand is much better than his right hand
Maybe he was born left handed but his parents forced him to use his right hand to fit in. They would know which hand he would prefer as a baby, so maybe they told him and he switched for table tennis. There's a Chinese phrase where a group of people sit down at a table and eat dinner, if they all use right chopsticks it's fine, but if someone uses left chopsticks then the right and left will hit each other. I don't believe in forcing lefties to be righties though...

I kind of always enjoying to watch Xu Xin play. Mainly because he always come up with some creative stuff, like the last pro tour final he was against Wang Hao, with the amazing forehand flip. It looks like he is really enjoying to play instead of just die hard to win the game.
