World cup term is misleading in my opinion. ITTF world tour events are much tougher to win as far as lineup is concerned. They should rename this to inter-continental cup or something. "World" should be used only for world champs.
ML and LGY may face each other in semifinal, or even quarterfinal.
Depends on whether there is a rule in the draw that places them on opposite sides if they both win their groups. There often is in ITTF events that limit countries to two participants.
World Cup has new playing system now. Top 8 seeds do not play group and there is NO separation by association. ML is #1 seed and LGY #6. It is possible that they meet before final.

After watching Dima's recent matches in T2 APAC and ECL, I would give an outside chance for Dima to lift the trophy, provided he does not choke mentally.
ok nevermind, WE ALREADY DO HAVE GROUPS!!!
Group A: Lee Sangsu, Quadri Aruna, Kanak Jha
Group B: Marcos Freitas, Kou Lei, David Powell
Group C: Omar Assar, Alexander Shibaev, Cedric Nuytinck
Group D: Chen Chien-An, Jeong Sangeun, Gustavo Tsuboi
Kanak Jha can upset Quadri. Kanak is technically sound but lacks power. If he can exploit Quadri's weaknesses we can have a good match.Ok, my tips:
A: 1.Lee Sangsu 2.Quadri
B: 1.Freitas 2.Kou Lei
C: 1.Shibaev 2.Assar
D: 1.CCA 2. Jeong Sangeun
But these are somewhat the expected results. Omar Assar played very well recently, he can make an upset. I root for Aruna, but seems a bad matchup against LSS. Jeong Sangeun has good capabilities and CCA is a mystery for me: I would say he is one of the most controlled attacking player among the pros, tries to play consistently, but his results are very unpredictable. But I think he stands high pressure better than Jeong Sangeun.
Do you expect any upsets?
