Just rewatch the previous 2 years Qatar Open and surprised to see how well XX play back in the beginning of 2011. I thought he starts to play well in 2012 so he got enough points to become world number 1 this year. In fact he was truly amazing back then. He first beat Ma Long 4:0 in the semi, then 4:0 Timo in the final. Ma Long just can't handle all the heavy pounding of XX. He got pretty good RPB with a mix of TPB blocks. Don't know why he totally abandon TPB now as that can be effective in time. The 2012 Qatar final was even better with Wang Hao once leading 3:1 with match point but XX still managed to bounce back. Today's Ma Long is a totally different beast so XX really needs to improve further, especially his backhand, to stay on top.
