I am sorry guys but even if spam bots are a thing of the past, the site is still a massive disappointment.
Things look superficially pretty but they are presented in a meaningless mishmash. If you reverted to the original TTD before this recent spate of changes I bet we would be better off. If you compare this site with MYTT where everything seems to work and you have areas of interest organised properly and chronologically TTD needs to get its act together if its going to survive

Dan, small issue. When transitioning from full screen to a narrower column, there is a small portion where it looks like this: It is fine after shrinking the width enough, but there is just a small bit inbetween where it looks like this.

TTD is going great. I guess. Still no tapatalk, still [email protected]. Things used to, well, work, a while ago.

Dan, any chance to add the private threads???

I see 2 incarnations:

1. reg-only thread
Only registered users see and can read the thread.
This should be easy to implement.

2. private thread
The OP has a set of trustees. When OP starts a private thread, only his trustees (and admin) can
see/read and post.
This can be a bit more work.

Install ublock origin ad blocker extension in your browser and all these annoyances will be a thing of the past.

Edit: Didn't notice you used a smart phone. Might be difficult to use ublock origin on that. But never fear - you can configure your mobile's private DNS settings to point at nextdns.io which basically implements ad blocking at DNS level. Same result in the end.

Thanks for the hardwork in maintaining this site, I am just wondering if black background feature will be added?
I also wonder if we could also add the previous feature where if I comment in a thread and then there is a new comment, I would be alerted. Sometimes now if I comment on a thread but someone else comments but does not interact with my post, I do not even know they have replied.

Hey Jeff, we are looking to add a dark theme in the near future. The only issue currently is if we have two themes running then both need to be custom coded each time there is an update. We are looking into this though it's just because there are a lot of updates currently taking place, we want to add a feature like this once everything is more solid 🏓

Thanks Dan. First it blocked me when I tried to give a like to a post. Incidentally it also blocked me when I tried to give a like to your/this post . I found the site doesn't allow me to open more than N tabs. When I open the site, I see new posts, open them in tabs, then go read them. Recently the site decides to block when I open more than N (you know the exact nr.), and then all other sub-sequent requests, until some time-out. It seems no-one else complains about it but me though, maybe majority reads the site more sequentially.

Hmmm, can 10k characters be extended? I find it not sufficient.

Hey Yoass we haven't added Tapatalk to the site yet, the current mobile site works extremely well now. Do you think Tapatalk is needed?

Just noticed that the keywords filter under "Reviews" isn't working. And to be clear, all the other clickable filters are working, just the user typed "search" is not.

For example, if I check the "Butterfly" under "Brands", it shows me a grid of Butterfly products that has reviews. But if I type in "Viscaria" in the search, it will say "There are no items matching your filters", even though the search bar itself recognized my input, and had a small pop up to let me pick between "Viscaria" and "Viscaria Light".

Yeah Spam all cleared now. I'm sorry you think this, so do you mean the experience of browsing topics in the forum or? I feel TTD works so much better now from a posting, UX and mobile experience. If you can let me know exactly how you mean we can easily implement this.

I have to say, that as someone who frequents a few forums and also works in the tech sector, UX/UI is very important to me. I feel that the current layout and UX is far better than it was before and also far better than any of the other forums so I am not sure what PPP is alluding to really. There are always things that can be improved, but in general this is an easy forum to read and post to, both on desktop and mobile - good job.

Fantastic! I thought it will be forgotten...

The reason for nr. 1 is because it is exactly what I'd use. Because I don't feel like posting videos to public, I started 12 private conversations, and each can only contain 5 people. It was little bit of a hassle. It was very positive anyway. The disadvantage is that people can't see each others responses - only from the group in which they happened to be (and that was alphabetical sort ). Second disadvantage for me was that I missed some other people whose responses I'd very much enjoy. Put simply, I don't distinguish very much between TTD members. You are a TTD member, you're good enough for me (if something like that can be said). So, if you implement the point 2, please make an option to simply "select all" for trustees. I can imagine some people would only have couple of trustees, but it is a good option to be able to select all. And of course, as you understand, this all is kind of crazy and personal - some people don't mind posting such videos (like e.g. Attitude recently posted similarly directed video as myself), but some people do. So, thanks again for looking into it, appreciated. Cheers.

thanks for asking my opinion

This Site seems to have way too much glaring white space, with too large fonts so that a lot of tedious scrolling has to be done to get to what you want. On the other hand MyTT uses space more efficiently with a well chosen smaller but easy to read font in a good color.


So as an example I just opened TTD on my iPhone and it showed me only 4 headings under "latest" plus some ads,

whereas MYTT immediately showed 23 headings under "Latest Posts" and I know that I can go to any of the main subject areas Equipment, Coaching,Videos, General, and see similar lists of the latest posts. It looks really professional and well planned for browsing whether on laptop or phone.
Because of its logical display with containers for the main areas of interest just a one line title entry for each post is used which allows many more items to show per page.
TTD on the other hand shows:-


EQUIPMENT A good heading
Table Tennis Equipment(Everything) a waste of a valuable line

New if your title lists are in chronological order this may not be needed


so my point is:-
your screen is not being used efficiently

If you can bear to look at MYTT in a dispassionate way I think you can see that the info in MYTT is given in a concise informative easy to digest style whereas TTD is displayed in a way that makes it tedious to use, though I admit it has a superficial gloss to it, and the ads stand out very well

What do I like about TTD?
Its a TT site, and I am a TT person I like TT sites to succeed!

There are some good posters, with excellent moderators
Your "story" and the enthusiastic promo activities that back it up I Just wish that it was presented better

Hey Yoass we haven't added Tapatalk to the site yet, the current mobile site works extremely well now. Do you think Tapatalk is needed?

Well, "needed"... I can do without, of course. But I'd definitely have a look there at the unread items there whenever the occasion arises, whereas the site - that's a once or twice week thing for me. In a browser, not mobile.

The RSS feed will do, though; it gets me new threads, at least, even though they still are from "UpSideDownCarl, [email protected] (UpSideDownCarl)" or similar (everybody's still [email protected]).

It was still doing it for me as of this morning, although no issues on a mobile using the same internet provider.

Yep. It is interesting that the Michael Zhuang profile, which has not posted since January, is listed as having 50 posts in May.
