I thought an jaehyun was the future of Korean but he seems inconsistent sometimes after his ran at wttc 2019.
It's the forehand and footwork mode that the Koreans use (zeio analyzes it a lot) - it has a high ceiling but when the player is tired or not in maximal form, it leads to poor results. Cho has the lefty advantage as well, but the more balanced Koreans will be able to do better against more players. I think part of Lee Sang Su's recent resurgence is improved backhand play. He has always had a powerful stroke but it seems to have a quicker reset than it had in the past and more quality as well.

Oh! Now I see...

I was wondering how come Jang Woojin could lose to the Romanian player.

A strong FH dominant player like JWJ needs to be in top physical shape to do what he do best.

I had always enjoyed watching JWJ in action, always admired his strong FH pivot attack. CHO-LEH! Now I know it comes at a price.

Didn't get a chance to watch this, but Maria Xiao beat Amy Wang 3-0 (11,7,4). I remember Samara also beat Amy Wang 3-0 at the Mixed Teams with heavy, heavy spin such that Amy was not able to hit through it. I wonder if that is what happened with Maria. Lack of a spin game is a glaring hole in Amy's repertoire.

Happy Eerland is back from her having a child. Europe needs such women players to keep going even of they can't beat the top Asians.
Given the age of Li Jiao and Li Jie at WTTC 2014 and World Cup 2015, Eerland has the potential of becoming the "future" of Netherlands for the next decade.

LYJ/CSY 3-2 Karlsson/Kallberg
G5 810, 1210

Karlsson upon losing: racket = frisbee
Singaporean fans coming from WTTC 2024: Doesn't get any more satisfying.

Ma Long couldnt hit his usual backhand blocks and counters to Franzs Flips and backhand loops, which led to him being clueless and lost.
He tried everything that he could think of, but it didnt work.

I am excited for the Franz - Dima Matchup.
Play doubles together and then singles against each other.
