Well for europeans to come from the winter weather that we have now, from freezing to 36°C .. quite weird :D

The only problem for the Europeans will be how the environmental issues affect the play. Eg, does the humidity affect the bats?

How many teams will move on from each group? I struggle to find the rules for advancing to next stage.

Here you go:

In all honesty, there's high probability that they won't even get out of the group stages. The top 2 go through I think, so Sweden, then France/England - probably France though.

I agree that it will be hard for Germany to beat the one or other team even in group stage without Ovtcharov and a Boll far away from being fit (lost against Gauzy today in Bundesliga i.e.).
However, I am sure they will come through group stage as the best three teams proceed, not only two, you are wrong, see http://www.ittf.com/World_Events/wttc_2016/2016_WTTC_Playing_System.pdf

If they don't finish in top three in their group it would be a shame, even under these tough circumstances.

Kreanga, 43 years old, won 1 set against Xu Xin.

Schlager, 43 years old, won his game by 3-0.

Primorac, the God, 46 years old, won 3-0 against Joo Se Hyuk.

Unbelievable!! European Legends on form!!!

These guys are definitely not too old for this!

I hope it was just a tough day for Boll and not a sign of long term form.

He seems very slow after the recovery from his injury. I think its definitely downhill from now on, age, too many injuries will take their toll. I also hope Im wrong though , good thing is that he will retire if he realizes he cant play competitively anymore.

Its not a good spectacle to see boll endup like kreanga or saive

The facilities and the field are pretty crappy. many complaints by most players. the floor has some inclination lol.

Yes, but that affects everyone. And I can't remember the last time I saw Boll lose to a lefty that wasn't Freitas. Lebesson usually has pretty illegal serves but still, this is Boll.
