The Round of 16 has been decided now.
China, Korea Republic, Japan and France go straight to the quarterfinals.

Croatia - Sweden. 3/3 16:30 T1
The winner will play China in the quarterfinal.

Korea DPR - Portugal. 3/3 13:00 T3
The winner will play Korea Republic in the quarterfinal.

Austria - Hong Kong. 3/3 16:30 T2
The winner will play Japan in the quarterfinal.

Poland - England. 3/3 13:00 T1
The winner will play France in the quarterfinal.

France looks good for the semifinals, perhaps even the finals. It was a crucial win over Sweden yesterday.

Position 1-12 here: http://www.ittf.com/ittf_team_event...our_Code=2587&Event_Type=mstm2&team_stage=112
Position 13-24 here: http://www.ittf.com/ittf_team_event...ur_Code=2587&Event_Type=mstm2&team_stage=1324

Good info for those who will test their competition luck haha. I didn't see this before I voted. But I did some research on my own.
Looking over each individual results. (from the ittf page)
On Men's side I guessed; 1) China 2) Japan 3) Korea Republic.
Now that I've seen your set up, I am actually more certain about it, hehe.
My speculations;
Japan will go on after beating whoever made it, I bet France, but it would be really funny, if Poland made it. (Poniewaz Polski ludzi jest swietnie )
And then Korea Will beat (probably France) in the Bronze final.
However! With a 35/65 % margin. I do believe, Hong Kong Could upset Japan.
If someone else than Wong Chun Ting manage to win one match. (Though I do doubth it) I kind of want to see a Jun Mizutani OR Oshima vs Wong Chun Ting, Jun did afterall loose to him at the Polish open Oct 2015... and Tang Peng could pull off a win.
Portugal - Korea DPR -> Korea, I think anything could happend... but hold a 40/60% bet on Korea pulling either off. making it to the Semi, and loosing to China before winning Bronze final (there will be one, right? not point based on who gets third?)
against Poland or France. The others I think should be obvious.
Anyone have other thoughts? :v

Live scoring on the right side is interesting btw. "Matches of the Day", keep in mind WGTEM for women, and MGTEM for men, lol, took me a few minutes to figure http://www.ittf.com/competitions/competitions2.asp?Competition_ID=2587

and here is the same as brabhamista posted for women;

With Joao Monteiro playing at this level, if Marcos Freitas can play at his natural level I don't know if it will be so easy for South Korea to win.

Same thing for England-France, if liam and paul were in one of his good days they can beat any french player.

Could this sweden dream in won one game against china? I don't think so...but never forget that we are talking about sweden.

Great post I completely agree with you. It all depends on whos playing well on the day. All players will be forgetting the early stage performances and will be preparing and getting ready for the quarter final showdown. Will be awesome!

Dan we are table tennis fans , we have to be adaptive :p

To true! :)

I think this has been one of the most interesting tournaments so far , I hope there are more upsets down the line and we see more heroes emerging for the sport. We definitely need more heroes of all colors and creed and then only this sport will grow and prosper !

Sure it's entertaining to watch the chinese playing and I always love to watch them but my dream come true would be if Sweden could win these WTTTC first time for a long time.

Why not England causing a major upset and winning the whole thing ? Just saying .... I liked their fighting spirit last night when Drinkhall was able to get to Jakub at the end ... lets hope for upsets and more upsets and then we can get more heroes in the sport :)

Actually yeah in fact I'd like any other country that are in seed below China to win for a change, it would certainly make of an enthralling feeling to experience it after such a long time than just watching how indomitable Chinese again are going to glean the victory.

Like England, France, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Germany (though they got out already). Sadly this never going to happen.

So by "any other country", you actually mean "any other EUROPEAN country"? ;)

I'd prefer that too, but I'm willing to settle with another Asian country winning as well...

Yea that's what I meant, but then by being too specific you risk turning conversation to being political :D
