It's obvious why Fan Zhendong lost:

1. The new ball, it clearly favors Xu Xin's playing style..
2. The new ball, FZD is not used to it.
3. FZD was tired, he's been playing so many tournaments.
4 FZD is still suffering the effects of his injuries.
5. XU Xin was yelling Cho too much, even when FZD made mistakes.
6. A new bat, FZD is not used to it.
7 A new coach.
8. FZD was tired, having just won the doubles.
9. FZD is getting too old, he has to start losing at some point.
10. FZD is too young and doesn't have the experience.

I see your ironic argument but it's not like FZD played well and XX just played better. FZD made many mistakes like missing the ball or some of his shots looked a lot slower than he would usually play them.

I think xu xin was using a lot more his bh, and actually being very efficient with it. But FZD didn't play his best.

But what turn around in XX life, one tournament he lost to LSS 4x0 easily and now he's the Sweden champion against FZD.

Looking back to the tournament the hardest match in this tournament was against harimoto what a surprise.

I think that the latest two open served much more exitement coming from surprises, than actual play.
Of course I can't blame nothing but the ball for what is happening //, but I kind of like it /not the ball, but the situation /.
