Hana Goda is a female Truls that does not throw paddle.
The problem is what happens when the pips player makes the block against a high quality loop, Sreeja just didn't land enough of those blocks. Goda managed to overwhelm Sreeja by being able to reloop which is more difficult than meets the eye without a good understanding of your own spin thresholds but Sreeja has avenues open to her which she doesn't have the training to execute but which Batra would have (twiddling and punch blocking).Great work by Goda! Pushed too much near the end, but stuck to attacking at the very end and won the match. I don't get why pros would ever push a long backspin from a LP blocker. Keep looping to their BH and you'll eventually win. If they can block your loop short, kudos to them, they've got the advantage now, but make them do that because it ain't easy. Don't just push back a long one and give them a chance to attack.
Goda isn't quite consistent enough to win easily, Sreeja had a chance if only she didn't loop 90% of the times down the line to the opponent's FH. Goda adjusted to that and successfully defended her FH by the last 2 games, whereas WYD never adjusted.

If you're preparing to twiddle/punch block then you're not focusing on pivoting. Sreeja's pivot is so much more deadly than Batra's because that's what she's focused on.The problem is what happens when the pips player makes the block against a high quality loop, Sreeja just didn't land enough of those blocks. that doesn't even justify now that Harimoto has won him twice this yearTogami: I prep for Harimoto year-round.
Togami: I can't be fixed...yeah, I'm finally convinced, Togami will forever be an above average player. Decent forehand and backhand but zero ability to read the game and adapt to the opponent. It's sad how most Japanese players rise quickly before 20 and become so stagnant afterwards
Yes, Mizutani even specifically pointed out the issues of Togami, namely going "bam bam" with his receiving that leads to unforced errors, especially his over-reliance on the chiquita and his inability to correct, that being a world's top player is totally different from being a Japan's top player, and that he can't just expect what works at home to work overseas as well, but that Togami is apparently not aware and that he is still immature in a lot of areas.
Like LGL's comment in 2011 that ML should focus on making the opponent uncomfortable first, Mizutani also mentioned that there have been very few matches in which Togami focused on exploiting the weakness of his opponent rather than exposing his own because of "my way or the highway", which is "the theory of world class players". He added that there are players who can "be fixed" and those who cannot.
I guess we can agree to disagree, inverted (especially hard sponge inverted) has a higher threshold on blocking apinny loops than long pips and the change in ball quality and speed messes up players who are not expecting it, which is why Batra wins many points doing it at the right moment. The problem with Sreeja's pivot is that at least in this match it became predictable to see the movement and then where the ball was going and Hana could get the ball back if she could get to it. Twiddling gives less time for that.If you're preparing to twiddle/punch block then you're not focusing on pivoting. Sreeja's pivot is so much more deadly than Batra's because that's what she's focused on.
Also, loops off of very heavy backspin like a LP block of a loop is not the same as loops against topspins/no spins/weaker backspins(e.g. off a service or push), they're very, very heavy and very difficult to counter or punch block. If you have the space you can counter-loop it, but you usually don't have the space on the BH side, especially not if you're playing the off the bounce blocking game.
