You may try with solvents containing Toluene, Xylene or just Naphtha.
Or, with some nitrates - better ammonium nitrate.
You may try first to dip in Naphtha for some time, and dip in ammonium nitrate after that - its coagulant features wil fix and strengthen the expanded mold.
If you can't find the exact solvents, you may use some Diesel fuel from a petrol station for the first stage, and some Urea for the second.
Urea is easyer and cheeper.

Do you mean dipping the whole rubber + sponge into the solvent?

Passionate about TT

Principally yes, but you may try with dipping only the sponge.

hahahahaha. Sorry. I think that is the funniest thing I have read in a while. Der_ this plus the Viagra just may create the closest thing to your secret bear sweat that I have ever heard of.

Do not try this at home.

I like the idea of just dropping the rubber into a bucket of diesel fuel. It will work. It will make the sponge expand. But will you be able to use the rubber? Will the topsheet separate from the sponge?

Dip it in the naphtha for some time. :) This may be better than Archo at his best. :)

Look, baby oil, or any booster like Falco would expand the sponge more than enough if you just put a layer or two on the sponge. You don't need to soak the rubber in VOC oil.

You could use a liquid parafin, it's much cheaper than boosting rubber and besides that, boosters are made of parafin haha
