How did Vladi beat Dima so handily in that fifth set? I am new to table tennis so I have trouble understanding some of the smaller changes players make in between sets. Did he change his attack patterns to throw Dima off or was it the use of the flips that threw Dima off?

he flipped more, and had more aggressive blocks + dima made 2-3 unforced errors and vladi was up 10-2 in a blink

They know each others games really well. Also seems to be confidence and momentum swinging back and forth

I'm no table tennis expert myself, but I think Vladi did it with his short pushes, change of pace and fantastic blocks. He also got lucky a few times. And he's really, really calm, which also helps.
