Alexis has a major advantage here, Liang doesn't look right. I think Coach Molin must have told him yo juat continue making Liang move and that he should not lose his patience that opportunities will come. If Liang wins this, it will be one of the biggest wins of his career from a mental fortitude standpoint, overtaking the Calderano comeback IMHO.

Yeah LJK is really really feeling it. I've never seen him looked so fatigued. I actually don't recall seeing another top level player look so fatigued during a match. Wonder if he's sick or something? Alexis making him move for sure but seems like there's gotta be more to it than that.

Obviously a WTTC bronze match is bigger, but I take this match. Amazing given the level the opponent was presenting. Obviously there was a gift from Alexis, but Liang made more than his fair share of amazing shots to save this especially at the 9-9 point.

Still think he should not play MS at Paris 2024 [1, 2].

MS R16
A. Lebrun 2-3 LJK (-7, 9, 3, -9, -9)
G5 98 Lebrun served off the net tape, 911

MS R32
JWJ 3-1 Franziska (8, -6, 6, 10)
G4 107, 108 TO for JWJ, 1010, 1110 Franziska served into the net, 1210

Togami at MT F of WTTC 2022: I know, right?

Thanks for answering my question, though as we all know, your position ia not driven by his performance vs Gauzy but by purported negative influence on Felix. To me there is no doubt he should be playing over Gauzy.

Farewell, Boll!

a few times in the match timos blocks went straight down onto the table, moisture on the ball or no spin play by felix, either way it was interesting to see

I'm saddened that Hirano suddenly has no answers. Her push game has improved, but she's underpowered vs top Chinese. Not sure if entering so many tournaments is good for her even though I know she's trying to improve her ranking.
Zagreb, Ljubljana... No Chinese... It will be interesting to see the results of the Japanese girls...

Sidespin from Felix. It is how he keeps the ball low sometimes and it is hard to counter, especially from his backhand.

Alexis may have a higher ceiling against core CNT players as of now, but Felix has a MUCH better chance of reaching/easier road to the SF for a medal match. At the end of the day, securing a medal takes precedence over beating CNT players if you can't have both. Keep in mind Alexis has not proven himself against non-CNT players, unlike Felix. If it were not for Gauzy, France would have had much lower odds of reaching the final at WTTC 2024.

Gauzy beat XX in R32 at WTTC 2019 but lost to Falck in QF who reached the final ultimately. How many still remember or even care about that win?

CXT has squandered her share of opportunities.

To the CNT, losing to Batra at Asian Cup 2022 was likely the one that sealed her fate. Losing to Szocs also is a big no-no. 1-3 -> 4-3 CIC at WTTC 2023 and 0-2 -> 3-2 A. Mukherjee at ATTC 2023 revealed too many uncertainties. Not being able to get deep enough of the draw to beat JNT players is meaningless even given a 100% win rate.

Not sure how the goalposts are being moved, the debate is Gauzy vs Alexis for a
singles, there is no debate over Felix. Since nothing in your argument speaks yo that, not worth responding beyond what I have already written.

Lily played really well here despite the loss. Strong in the rallies. Forced Hina to back off more than she wanted. Lily is 27 now and has at least 1 more Olympic cycle in her especially since it will be in Los Angeles in the US.
