According to a domestic commentator, it seems to be true. First 4-0 win in Olympic history.

yeah, but he still lacks a 2nd wttc and does not have any back or arm injury. haters gonna hate.

I walk away from this tournament being most impressed by Quadri Aruna and Vladimir Samsonov.

Ma Long is a beast and there is no question that, right now he is the best player around. But Samsonov at 40, his performance was beautiful. And how exciting is Aruna to watch!

Guys I'm just realising, Ma Long is the current champion of every important titles that exist in Table Tennis :
1 - Olympics
2 - WTTC
3 - Chinese National Games
4 - World Cup
5 - Pro Tour Grand Finals (less important but still)

+ all the team events and some Pro Tours probably.

Hands down baby : D

I believe he can defend all of that hehe

Exactly Carl, all in all, I think this was one of the best Olympic Table Tennis Tournaments ever. Not only by the upsets, but also by the quality of points, techniques and fitness of all the players. I thoroughly enjoyed the Singles Event, and am really eagerly awaiting the Team Event.

Plus, he also has record of winning the most pro-tours in the history.

Impressive! What do you all think of this. Ma Long and Zhang Jike warmed up together before the final

Some guys think the match was fixed. If it was true, I think LGL should attend a film direction course in Hollywood to make the match more dramatic, not one-way show 4-0 today.

Two facts I notice in this match:

- When ZJK has getting older, his mental is weaker.
- When ML has getting older, his reaction is more quicky, and his footwork is faster.

ZJK was more sportsmanship when he still shaken hand with ML after losing 0-4 today. The last time his has lost 0-4 to ML in Asian Championship, he hadn't done that.

And Now, we have know who is better player: "Ma Long’s skills are better than mine, no matter is it in his first three strokes, or changing between attacking and blocking. Congrats to him” said Zhang.

Congrats to ZJK. You are mature.

Well well well...TTfrenzy sure is a gentleman. I applaud you good sir.

Those who said this match fixed, learn to accept the truth man. ZJK was giving his best, especially in the first set. After that, Ma simply dominated and anticipated ZJk's play.

Its funny to see some people said this was rigged. What happens with all the talk making ZJK the greatest with two grandslam? ZJK wanted the gold, same goes for ML. They played their hearts out and this time around, ML is better. Just like two years ago in WC, ZJK was the better one.

Jeoung Youngsik, Aruna, Mizutani and Ma Long. Hoping Xu Xin can do it next time.

Ma Long showed that he is on another level altogether. I thought that Zhang Jike was going to win but Ma Long was too much even for him. Congratulations, Ma Long.

Yes match was fixed in ZJK's mind. He ****ing injured his shoulder and back again during the semifinal. Waiting for official confirmation from Chinese media.

Other than that, how can you even say that this match is rigged. He was giving his maximum during the first set. After the second set, there is severe disruption in his form and movement. Injury messed him up.

Anyways, Kudos to our new Grand Slam Champion Ma Long. It would have been miserable, if ML played like he did again Jeung or Aruna. For the least he was pretty confident during the entire match. That makes me happy.

Fate made ZJK the Grandslam champion and the same made him to lose the Finals by Injury. There is no way Ma Long gets to beat a 100% ZJK :D

I agree with all above, and I'd add Kim Song I, Ni Xialian and Paul Drinkhall. And also Ai Fukuhara was badass against FTW.
