Apparently Butterfly got wind of this discussion and their marketing department have decided to rebrand the blade as 'Scrubbers Golden Viscaria'. Only time will tell if this change will reinvigorate sales.
One must admit, the leaked new graphics are quite catchy

  1. Never congratulate your opponents during the match; even if they make an amazing shot. Just brush it off emotionless like nothing has happened

Totally agree, and perhaps this is the most underrated aspect that hobby players like me overlook. This gives a moral booster for your opponent, and your opponent will start believing (If he wasn't already believing) that he has an upper hand.

Ha, the exact opposite happens for me. If I make a beautiful shot and get compliments, that tends to make me wanna try it again...and miss :ROFLMAO:

Opinions vary on these things as always. Depends on the importance of the match I suppose.

Also depends if your concentration is easy broken. If a player plays a blinder normally give a thumbs up and a smile then get on with it. It's the way of things sometimes.

Which level you play at and your strength of fortitude and personality is very important as well.

The better or experienced players tend to have a relaxed way about them like a day at the office. Non fazed. In the zone.

Arrogance normally is there to hide weakness out of my experience.

Most of these tips are aimed thowards affecting your opponent psychologically. And to be more specific, not giving your opponent a psychological advantage.

But if you really want to psychologically dominate you opponent, you should show some form of confidence. And most professionals do this in the form of screaming ‘Chooo!’

Because even if you are the lesser player, if you can psychologically dominate your opponent then you can put him off his game. And yeah… pissing your opponent off is also a way to psychological domination. Because then they will be more focused on how annoyed they are with your behavior and they are not focused on the game.

Best pro examples are probably Harimoto and the Lebrun brothers.

I have repeatedly seen some comments on YouTube that people hate the way Harimoto screams, or how the Lebrun brothers are so vocal. And the Lebrun brothers can be even vocal when they lost the last 5 points. They start screaming “Aléh aléh, cho!” and do a small victory run, almost pretending they won the last point.

And pros are used to this behavior, they have seen lots of this on their way to the top and wont let this throw them off.

But an amateur will probably break more easily. If you are on the other end of the table getting annoyed with their behavior, it will make you more frustrated when losing a point, because you to listen to them cheering again. And all you are thinking is “Shut up already, you just won your first point in the last 6 points!”. All your frustration will eventually catch up with you and you will start playing worse, which makes them cheer more, which makes you more pissed, etc.

This is something I personally don’t do, because I wouldn’t feel comfortable with cheering out loud. But also because it doesn’t suit my game. My game is all about keeping calm and collected. Screaming or getting fired up after winning a point pulls me out of my calm state, which works counterproductive for my performance in game.

Also I don’t think you would make many friends this way, lol.

I disagree…
I think it’s better not to show anything at all. What these guys do is wasting energy.
That said I do get pissed off at myself sometimes but hardly ever choo after a won point. Btw we used to say OSS when I was competing a loong time ago.

Cheers

Recently i bought a haifu black from the chinese dealer white package and purple top simliar looking at what pong professor is using

Few things, it's either fake/commerical because the oil is a lot less dense and less dark compare to my friend's haifu black old version. My conclusion of the booster is similar to what pong professor's statement, it's weak and kind a garbage. However, my friend's haifu black which is similar to what prott.vip is selling https://prott.vip/Product-Details.aspx?productcode=HFNatOil with the yellow cap is very different. The effect is amazing and a lot more power.

Just want it point it out so people don't just buy the commerical version of haifu black and waste their time and $$$

/scrubjesus
So I should just spend my money on the prott national black oil instead.

It is to my conclusion gold vis is a mircale pay 2 win blade after an interesting consistent observation between me and my friends.

Me: Switched from zhou qihao 90 gold vis April and my rating was going up ever since

Friend 1: Been 218x~219x for 10 years, switched to gold vis and went to 2300. No additional training or lesson taken what so ever.

Friend 2: Look at his rating history, want to take a guess when he switch to gold vis? Yep late 2022 jump from 225x ~ 2300 for almost 5 years to 2400.

Friend 3: Again, want to take a guess when he start using gold vis? Yep early 2024 went from 22xx to 23xx

The above are all adult player where we have jobs, family, and no time of the day to train like kids. Even if we were to play 2~3 times a week it would just be maintaining our level. So what's so special about gold vis compare to normal vis and other blades? (We are quite the EJ, we are adult with $$$ afterall we love trying different stuff)

Well, compare to all other blades i've tried, Gold vis is a blade that have the most margin of error while producing high quality shot. It's very forgiving, normally when a blade is forgiving, it trades shot quality for margin of error but for some reason gold vis is an exception. Most gold vis are 95g which theoretically it's quite heavy but the balance of the blade is superb and it doesn't feel heavy at all despite the total weight are consistently 195g+ . My friend's blade are in that range while the heaviest is at 198g. We as an adult player cannot consistently play close to the table like kids, we do find ourselves away from the table a lot of the time in a match. Gold vis is able to put shot down the deeper end of the table despite us getting far off the table.

Comparison to other blades:

1. Compare to normal vis, gold vis have signifant power away from the table. While normal vis weight between 82~88g, gold vis are 95g and it felt harder.
2. Gold vis power is comparable to w968-(1~3) and surpass the power from normal w968(1x~2x) while being much more forgiving.
3. Gold vis dimension is 157x150mm which make it a more backhand orientated blade which is what the current meta is about. Despite that, the forehand do not lack power

So at the end of the day, Gold vis put the ball back on the table more often and make your opponent miss more due to high shot quality. This equates to better match results. We adults can't train everyday likes kids but we can leverage our finance and this is what we do. aka p2w

While I don't speak for Keith I can confidently say you will never reach 2500 with your setup. Tenergy 05 is so 2010s and is too soft for forehand nowadays and how can you even loop with a blade 9mm thick? :)

he was testing other equipment in tournaments.
Hi, I wanted to ask for meme advice.

I am conflicted because I need to improve, after starting as a defensive style I am using a victas KM ZC.

The issue is I'm not very good at defence and chopping.

Now I understand I could just practice hard to get better. But I'm lazy and fat.

I was wondering for us modern defenders is the golden VIS the way or is there some other mythical blade to lust after if we want quick results?

I have a 94g Tokorozawa Super Fan Zhendong ALC incoming because I have been chewing some people's ears long enough to get this. Let's see how much the "don't pay" 2 win scenario works out for me and how well the plastic in the handle affects my waaay-waaay above god tier 10 dimension palm-finger nerve endingz. :alien:

Joke aside I do wonder how a properly made BTY blade will work out.
