This is a very different shot than what Scrub is referring to. But of course the counter loop is still possible with a regular ESN rubber. But I think H3 does it better
This is precisely why it is not good to 'brute force' counterspin heavy topspin. Much easier and more stable to either go with the sidespin or contact the ball away from the strong spin axis

He a heretic. He won't understand the difference between the two shots. My shot is magnitude more harder.
Doing something harder to produce a similar result seems like an inefficient way to perform a task - common human understanding.

However, the devout are taught in sunday class the Lord works in mysterious ways. So who are we to question the divine ways?

Guys this scrubjesus dude is right. Gonna copy paste parts of my review from the other thread.

Alright guys I decided to suck it up and go play on 3 hrs of sleep. Woke up early and put D09c 2.1mm on both sides. Played for 3-4 hours and my conclusion is that that scrubjesus guy from the golden viscaria thread being p2w is correct. Table tennis is indeed a pay2win sport now. This thing is amazing and felt like there was Neuralink (or whatever Elon is developing) between the blade and my mind. All my shots were landing and I was just so surprised when normally these shots wouldn’t have gone in. Keep in mind, this was on 3 hours of sleep after working a night shift. Here’s the difference between this and regular viscaria. Regular viscaria will have like 20 gears from 20-80, whereas golden viscaria has like 50 gears from 5-95. The floor is much lower, meaning touch game is incredible, while the ceiling is also much higher, meaning mid-long distance is also amazing. At low power shots, it felt like a wood blade and i won so many points in the touch game. The carbon activates earlier in regular viscaria and that blade feels harder. Keep in mind tho, you have to have a solid foundation and be able to supply your own power for rallies. If you’re a shitty player, most of the shots you play will go into net because you can’t supply your own power. I would say you should at least be USATT 1800 or above. This blade gives like +200 to rating. I was beating people 200 higher that I rarely beat before.

Comparing W968 to golden viscaria, I would say they’re both trying to accomplish the same goals. More gears and work to address the deficiencies of the regular versions. This means harder HL5 and softer viscaria. They’re moving towards the same kind of blade. I would still say golden viscaria is harder than W968 and BH is better on it, but FH is worse. Choose your poison. I switch flawlessly between the two tho and will just choose how I’m feeling that day.

A weakness of the blade is the transition from BH to FH because of its weight. My blade is 94.4g and total setup is 195g with two D09c. I lost quite a few points because my opponent started targeting my elbow at close to mid distance from the table. There’s a reason why you see the men playing from far distance when using this blade. Females aren’t strong enough to handle the weight.

Im currently visiting Vietnam and just had my ever first visit to a TT store. They had many BTY blades, but one in particular in the case with a ray of light around it, and a slight depiction of Jesus on the blade face with a “not for sale” sticker on it. I immediately knew it was a Golden Viscaria, and the gold tag & lens less handle confirmed it. So I acknowledged it’s presence and kept browsing until I saw a box above the counter that read “Golden Viscaria” and asked the clerk how much it was assuming they might have an additional blade in stock. I know Im not qualified to purchase such a blade (financially or skillfully) or to even look at it, but curiosity struck me. When the clerk told me the price of 25 million VND my wife quickly did the conversion in her head and blurted out “that’s like a $1,000!”. It was then I smiled, bowed my head, and walked out the shop gracefully, but in disbelief.

Some may say this blade is a crash grab, but if you have the means to attain such equipment I say enjoy, and play well.

No wonder that it turns someone’s head inside out and makes him religious…
BTW a Darker Royal hinoki 1ply has now passed €500 at TT11…

Cheers

I bought 95 grams FZD ALC
I know Geraldo use 91+ grams FZD ALC
I remember someone told US that FZD back in Stiga days he used 95 grams Stiga Viscanity
That's why you dont need golden viscaria and just heavy FZD ALC
Or heavy super viscaria

@zeio from this post made by you it’s not clear to me whether the golden vis has those plastic things in it or the regular does and the fact that the golden vis is all wood makes it heavier?

Those handles with the acrylic filler, which is where the extra weight comes from, belong to the Viscaria Golden. The Viscaria doesn't come with them.

It’s not the weight that’s the difference, it’s the weight balance. I have a95g Fzd alc and 5 viscaria from 92-95g. They don’t play like golden viscaria
It’s remarkable just how different the golden vis feels from any of the other outer Butterfly blades. Much wider range of gears - probably still too fast for me if I’m honest. My Franziska or Q968 are safer for me in match play, with steadier rubbers like Bluegrip.

currently having a practice session with both regular and golden viscaria and switching back and forth. This is probably as scientific assessment as possible. Brand new D09c on both sides. 95g weight both blades. 195g both setup. The golden is completely different. The amount of control you get is about 25-50% better in the short game and the shots are higher quality when playing away from the table. For the regular viscaria, it feels more crisp and I can tell the carbon is being activated with a lot less force. The shots end up being more direct, faster with low effort, but with way less spin. The margin of error is just so much less compared to golden viscaria. For the golden, I have just a few more milliseconds of dwell that allow me to put the shots where I want them to go.

@CallMeZaddy I'm curious - you mention the weight distribution - how does it differ from the normal Viscaria? Is the overall thickness identical? What about the ply thickness (as much as you can tell visually)? For example, the w968 has a visibly thinner core compared to the commercial Long 5, so it takes more effort to access that dense core but once you do you get more power - that kind of explains how the w968 has more gears compared to the commercial variant, so I'm curious if something similar is going on with the golden Viscaria.

The weight is more towards the handle. Center of gravity has been shifted back a little which gives you more control at the head of the blade. Because of it's overall weight at 95g though, you get a lot of stability and can still hit fast shots. Transitions from BH to FH are slower tho so I'm tending to play farther from the table. I wonder if you could possibly take a 92g viscaria and add 3g lead tape around handle to replicate the feeling.

Ply thickness is the same.
